Required setup across the chapters
- Complete Syra's earlier Bully for Bullit work in the opening chapters.
- In Chapter 3, use the Swamp Camp conversation associated with the women there to open or advance Secrets.
- Return the information to Syra.
- Speak separately with Velaya and Seraphia about the escape, then report the result back through the chain.
- Keep a permanent save before the Old Camp's later story transition.
The documented Escape Plan ending
The late journal entry does not contain the full setup. Current achievement guidance and multi-save community investigation agree on this backbone:
- Find Syra after the relevant Old Camp transition.
- Read the letter on her body; this advances the explicit Escape Plan stage.
- Go to the castle and search around Gomez's room for Velaya and Seraphia during their confrontation.
- Resolve the conversation to close the documented quest stage and work toward The Fixer achievement.
Why this page does not promise that Syra can be saved
Players have published mutually incompatible results for killing Old Camp leaders early, delaying Secrets, waiting until Chapter 5, or changing the order of the castle events. Some report Syra alive; others reproduce the same order and still find her dead. There is no official route confirmation in the current source set, so any guaranteed save-Syra instruction would be misleading.
Choice and consequence
Treat the branch as patch- and order-sensitive. If saving every character is your priority, preserve a save before the fire-mage and castle transition, then treat any alternate sequence as an experiment. Do not overwrite the only save that can return to Chapter 3.
If the quest will not advance
- Recheck whether Secrets was advanced and whether both Velaya and Seraphia received the escape conversation.
- Read Syra's letter rather than only looting the body.
- Search the castle during the expected confrontation state.
- If the required conversations never existed, return to the pre-transition save; current public evidence does not support a universal console repair.
